The weekend started Wednesday night with a ding dong ditch courtesy of Jenna and Rachael. Unfortunately, our doorbell does not reach my ears when I am upstairs in the bonus room so they had to call me to tell me to answer the door after trying to ring the doorbell and run three times. The front porch was decorated with streamers and hearts. It was a fun start to my birthday and I loved it. The next day I went to work in LA and had a birthday cake with co-workers and received a lotto ticket - maybe it will be a winner. :)
On Friday we left for an overnight trip to Solvang. I haven't been to Central California - along the coast - for awhile and had forgotten how beautiful it is. It also is so different from SoCal that it feels like a different state.
On Saturday we drove a little further up the coast to Moro Bay. We ate lunch there. This picture is Jeremy on the pier where we ate.
On Saturday we also stopped by a miniature horse farm. Jeremy loved it. Miniature horses can be bought as backyard pets for a price of 3k-6k. The designer dog is looking better and better.
It was a fun weekend. I love these little adventures with my family.

Happy Birthday!! At first I was like "Wow, I'm a year older than susan!! lol" ANyways, I know what you mean about central cali along the coast...beautiful. We drove home that way from san fransisco because we went straight from there to ventura for my grandpa's funeral. I couldn't believe the difference from southern cali!
Happy Late Birthday to you.. I am actually your new slacking Visiting Teacher.. So, I will hopefully visit you soon with Jenna.. Solvang looks fun, I have heard it is great.. I would love to visit is sometime!!

I have never been north of LA (as far as I know) in California. I sure am missing a big part of the state. It looks beautiful. I am glad you had a good b-day.
It looks as if you had a wonderful birthday. I love Solvang. We used to go there every year. It is such beautiful country.
