Another busy weekend...

On Friday I had to go to San Diego for work. Most of the day was going to be spent driving there and back to go pick up some business leads at a conference. Last week I decided to take Jeremy with me and turn the trip into a little overnighter by the beach. I found a clean hotel in Encinitas for $100 a night and decided after the conference I would take Jeremy to the beach. We had a great time once in San Diego but the trip there was no fun...

About the time we hit the exit where the San Diego temple is, Jeremy projectile vomited the contents of his stomach all over the back seat. And I do mean projectile... I pulled off the freeway and stopped at a gas station to find some baby wipes - why I did not have my handy supply of Costco wipes with me is beyond reason. The gas station had paper towels so I bought a roll of paper towels and a small pack of baby wipes for $9.00 (literally highway robbery) and proceeded to clean up Jeremy and the car while dressed for work. Fun times!

I stripped Jeremy of his vomit soaked clothing and placed him in the back of my car with strict instructions to stay seated - I didn't want some perv to drive by and snap pictures. I quickly moved to the 2nd row to clean it up and grab some more wipes for Jeremy, walked back around to the back of the car and found Jeremy standing naked and proud. He promptly pointed to the stream of liquid on the ground and said, "Look Mom, I went pee pee!" Can you imagine the poor shocked souls in San Diego innocently stopping for a tank of gas only to be visually bombarded by the sight of my four year old proudly urinating off the back of our SUV?? The boy was so proud and I felt a little more like white trash than I really wanted to start the day feeling.

We went onto the conference and the rest of the day was uneventful. We got to the beach at about 5pm and spent a couple of hours there. Jeremy had a great time and managed to find toys some other kids left behind and a seaweed rope that entertained him the whole time. It was fun to spend a little time away with my little man. On Saturday we went to the station and had a BBQ with Jerry and the guys working with him. The spouses and children were all there and just as dinner was being set on the table the guys were called to cover another station. We stayed and ate and the kids played. It was still fun but we missed spending more time with Jerry! Maybe this upcoming weekend will be fun while remaining vomit free!

Mom, Where are my Snizzors??

First thing this morning Jeremy meets me with this question, "Mom, where are my snizzors?" "I put them up Jeremy." I said. To which Jeremy replies, "Why, mom? I'll be a good boy." To which I replied, "You have lost your scissor privileges for cutting mom's hair."

Most of your kids find scissors and whack at their own hair. My child gets harmless kid's scissors from Ikea and takes a whack at my ponytail last night!! Jeremy is mostly not mischievous but when he decides to be a little naughty he can be really sly. I felt no movement, I just heard this little voice from the back of the couch say, Mom, I cut your hair for you." Sure enough I reach back and pull some freshly cut hair out of my pony tail. Little stinker!!
