Happy 4th Birthday Jeremy!

Sunbeams? Seriously??

Not only can I not believe that Jeremy and Jarom are Sunbeams but seriously - is there anything sunny about these boys on their first day of primary? Since January 6th, Jeremy has already given his first prayer in primary and been kicked out of his Sunbeam class. Jeremy was never sent to us while in nursery but he's managed to get kicked out of Sunbeams. Seriously!

Happy 1st Anniversary Kristi and Joseph!! - January 5th

Jacob's Baptism - January 5th

This was a great day that we were happy to be a part of. Kristi and Joseph came from BYU for Jacob's baptism and we enjoyed spending time with them.

Lyal baptized Jacob and Jerry confirmed him. Jacob shared his baptism with another boy in the ward and after the baptism both families celebrated with dinner at the church - polynesian style with a floor show and great food!

Christmas Morning

Thank Goodness for Ralphs!!

Another favorite memory of mine from the holidays - both Halloween and Christmas - was decorating cookies. Here is Jeremy having fun with friends of the family as we wait to eat dinner on the eve of Christmas Eve. The kids had a great time and I saved hours of work by discovering that Ralphs bakery sells sugar cookies pre-made in holiday shapes.

Jeremy's favorite icing was the black gel icing. He used it on every cookie!

Ben was the most creative with icing and sprinkles!

Gingerbread Memories and Christmas w/ the Rays

I feel the need every Christmas to have gingerbread houses - yes you read right - not a house but houses. I blame it on my mom - she baked - from scratch - a gingerbread village every year. The village sat on a cloud of "snow" in a big picture window that must have been 6 feet long and 2 feet deep.

My mom literally made the dough, rolled it out and had cardboard shapes she laid on the gingerbread and cut out the parts for houses, a store, a church and other various gingerbread buildings. Oh, we also had a tree full of homemade gingerbread men and everyone we knew got a plate full of cookies at Christmas as well.

Santa gets way too much credit!! My mom was magic. Santa is smoke and mirrors but my mom is real. Here's to a childhood of great memories. Hopefully my boy will be happy with his $8.99 Costco Pre Fab Gingerbread Cottage!! The modular of the gingerbread village...

Jacob's Birthday at Legoland

We took Jacob - our oldest grandson - to Legoland for his birthday in December. Thinking I was really cool, I wrapped a "lego" in stacking boxes that Jacob had to keep opening before arriving at the smallest box with the lego.

When Jacob finally got to the smallest box and opened it there was only a look of confusion on his face. Turned out I had wrapped a mega block - thinking it was a big lego - and Jacob could not figure out the hint to save his life. Apparently I need to brush up on my toys for boys and how to be a "cool nana" knowledge. We had a fun day though.

Candy Cane Goodness

Three boys happy to get candy canes from Santa. A fun ward party with Santa and Christmas Carols!

Pure Joy

Oh to be young and driving without a license! Jeremy behind the wheel and Jarom along for the ride. 11 years and 10 months until this scene becomes all too real.
